BYD, a rapidly expanding electric vehicle (EV) brand in Thailand, seeks to elevate its after-sales service experience through a dedicated, user-centered application. This app will feature essential functionalities such as accessing detailed vehicle information, locating charging stations, scheduling service appointments, and managing insurance services, all within an intuitive and responsive interface.

Currently, scheduling service appointments requires contacting centers via phone to check availability—a time-consuming process. The app’s design aims to streamline this user journey by enabling real-time slot availability checks and direct booking through a simplified task flow, reducing friction and saving time.

Additionally, the app leverages proactive UX features such as push notifications and dynamic alerts to remind users of upcoming maintenance based on vehicle mileage or time intervals. By employing visually distinct call-to-action elements and context-aware interactions, the app ensures users stay informed and engaged, fostering a seamless and proactive approach to vehicle care. This design reflects BYD’s commitment to delivering a convenient, efficient, and engaging user experience that aligns with the demands of modern EV ownership.

The layout design prioritizes delivering essential information upfront and minimizing the number of clicks required for users to perform critical actions, such as managing appointments or locating charging stations. This approach is particularly considerate of users who may be on the road, pressed for time, or dealing with urgent situations like locating a nearby charging station or reporting a vehicle breakdown. By focusing on simplicity and accessibility, the design ensures that users can quickly and efficiently address their needs, even in high-pressure scenarios.

The color scheme and overall design of the app are inspired by the sophistication and precision associated with the automotive industry. A palette of dark tones complemented by bold accents of red and white—reflecting the brand’s signature colors—has been chosen to create a modern, dynamic aesthetic. This design not only appeals to car enthusiasts but also reinforces the brand's identity and its emphasis on product performance and efficiency.

The app enables seamless appointment management, offering users the convenience of checking service center availability directly from their devices. This user-friendly feature not only enhances convenience but also builds confidence in the brand’s reliability.

Additionally, a gamification element has been introduced to further engage users by allowing them to calculate their carbon emissions reduction when using electric vehicles compared to traditional combustion-engine cars. This feature highlights the brand’s commitment to sustainability and aligns with current environmental trends, reinforcing its position as a forward-thinking advocate for reducing carbon footprints.

The BYD app is designed with the user at its core, aiming to be the go-to solution for all car-related needs. One standout feature is the ability to locate charging stations through collaborations with various providers, ensuring comprehensive coverage for users.

The map’s UX has been thoughtfully crafted with real-life scenarios in mind, particularly for users who may be outside and operating their phones with one hand. To enhance accessibility and ease of use, key features like the search function and filter options are conveniently placed at the bottom of the screen. This layout helps users quickly find the nearest charging station or filter options to locate specific stations, delivering a seamless and intuitive experience tailored to real-world usage.
